<p><b>Solar Electric Generating Systems</b> (<b>SEGS</b>) sind neun thermische <a href="Sonnenw%C3%A4rmekraftwerk" title="Sonnenwärmekraftwerk">Sonnenwärmekraftwerke</a> in <a href="Kalifornien" title="Kalifornien">Kalifornien</a>, die von <a href="NextEra_Energy_Resources" title="NextEra Energy Resources">NextEra Energy Resources</a>, einem Tochterunternehmen der <a href="NextEra_Energy" title="NextEra Energy">NextEra Energy</a>, betrieben werden und diesem teilweise auch gehören.
</p>

<div class="mw-heading mw-heading2"><h2 id="Hintergründe"><span id="Hintergr.C3.BCnde"></span>Hintergründe</h2></div>
<p>Bei den SEGS handelt es sich um thermische Solarkraftwerke, die durch thermische Solartechnologie und den Einsatz von <a href="Parabolrinne" title="Parabolrinne">parabolischen Reflektorrinnen</a> Strom gewinnen. In Kombination mit herkömmlichem <a href="Erdgas" title="Erdgas">Erdgas</a> wird auf diese Weise in der <a href="Mojave-W%C3%BCste" title="Mojave-Wüste">Mojave-Wüste</a> Strom erzeugt. Die neun Kraftwerke haben eine Leistung von zusammen rund 354&nbsp;MW und bilden so als Verbund den weltweit größten Solarbetrieb dieser Art.<sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
</p><p>Die thermischen Receiver, die die Sonnenstrahlen absorbieren und auf eine Trägerflüssigkeit (z.&nbsp;B. Öl) übertragen, wurden von der deutschen Firma <a href="Schott_Solar" title="Schott Solar">Schott Solar</a> hergestellt.<sup id="cite_ref-2" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
</p>
<div class="mw-heading mw-heading3"><h3 id="Die_einzelnen_Kraftwerke">Die einzelnen Kraftwerke</h3></div>
<p>Die neun SEGS-Kraftwerke wurden im Zeitraum von 1985 bis 1991 im kalifornischen <a href="San_Bernardino_County" title="San Bernardino County">San Bernardino County</a> von <i>LUZ II Ltd.</i> (heute Tochter von BrightSource Energy) entwickelt, gebaut und betrieben.
</p><p>Ab 1984 liefern SEGS&nbsp;I mit einer Leistung von 14&nbsp;MW und im Jahr darauf SEGS&nbsp;II bei Daggett <span id="SEGS_I,_SEGS_II" class="coordinates -print"><a class="external text" href="geo:34.863055555556,-116.82694444444"><span title="SEGS I, SEGS II"><sup>▼</sup></span></a></span><span class="geo noexcerpt" style="display:none"><span class="body"></span><span class="latitude">34.863055555556</span><span class="longitude">-116.82694444444</span><span class="elevation"></span></span> mit 30&nbsp;MW elektrischer Leistung für den Versorger <a href="Southern_California_Edison" title="Southern California Edison">Southern California Edison</a>, einem Tochterunternehmen von <a href="Edison_International" title="Edison International">Edison International</a>.
</p><p>Fünf Anlagen SEGS&nbsp;III – SEGS&nbsp;VII <span id="SEGS_III_-_SEGS_VII" class="coordinates -print"><a class="external text" href="geo:35.014166666667,-117.55888888889"><span title="SEGS III - SEGS VII"><sup>▼</sup></span></a></span><span class="geo noexcerpt" style="display:none"><span class="body"></span><span class="latitude">35.014166666667</span><span class="longitude">-117.55888888889</span><span class="elevation"></span></span> mit einer Leistung von jeweils 30&nbsp;MW entstanden zwischen 1986 und 1988.
</p><p>Die im Dezember 1989 und November 1990 nahe Lockhart <span id="SEGS_VIII,_SEGS_IX" class="coordinates -print"><a class="external text" href="geo:35.031666666667,-117.34805555556"><span title="SEGS VIII, SEGS IX"><sup>▼</sup></span></a></span><span class="geo noexcerpt" style="display:none"><span class="body"></span><span class="latitude">35.031666666667</span><span class="longitude">-117.34805555556</span><span class="elevation"></span></span> in Betrieb gegangenen Anlagen SEGS&nbsp;VIII und SEGS&nbsp;IX sind derzeit (2008) die größten individuellen Sonnenkraftwerke der Welt.
</p>
<div class="mw-heading mw-heading2"><h2 id="Stromerzeugungsdaten">Stromerzeugungsdaten</h2></div>
<p>Die theoretische Leistung sagt wenig über die tatsächliche Produktion aus.
</p><p>Das älteste Werk (SEGS&nbsp;I, 1984) hat bei 14&nbsp;MW Nennleistung jährlich zwischen ca. 20&nbsp;GWh und ca. 17&nbsp;GWh produziert. Das sind je MW Leistung also ca. 1,4&nbsp;GWh bzw. 1,2&nbsp;GWh.
</p><p>SEGS&nbsp;V (1988), hat bei 30&nbsp;MW Nennleistung zwischen ca. 70&nbsp;GWh und ca. 60&nbsp;GWh jährlich produziert. Das sind je MW Leistung also ca. 2,3&nbsp;GWh bzw. 2,0&nbsp;GWh.
</p><p>Das letzte Werk (SEGS&nbsp;IX, 1990) hat bei 80&nbsp;MW Nennleistung zwischen ca. 150&nbsp;GWh und ca. 120&nbsp;GWh jährlich produziert. Das sind je MW Leistung also ca. 1,9&nbsp;GWh bzw. 1,5&nbsp;GWh.
</p><p>Insgesamt haben alle Werke (SEGS I bis IX) bei 354&nbsp;MW Nennleistung jährlich zwischen ca. 660&nbsp;GWh und ca. 560&nbsp;GWh nur mit Sonnenenergie produziert. Das sind je MW Leistung also ca. 1,86&nbsp;GWh bzw. 1,58&nbsp;GWh.
